Why Some of “Get Paid to Write” Articles Full of Fake Gurus
Please don’t get baited!
Medium has always been my number one source to find reliable information on how to make money online from writing. It’s good to see a lot of big publications and self-publications promoting their way to make money online from writing. More information means more ways to explore the possibilities on how to really find money from writing online.
For me the problem that exists right now, isn’t about the knowledge they tell us, but the credibility behind their statements?
Let’s say writer A said you can actually get paid to write for the amount of $2000 dollar a month and there is no single proof showing that he/she is truly capable of doing it, would you still believe in what writer A said?
The things involving numbers also need numbers to back-up the subject. We need data, not some “click-bait” article which takes advantage of the reader’s ignorance and innocence.
It’s not factual if you can’t give a proof. What they do is sell false hope so you would get attracted to read their article and in the end they will be the one who profited a lot from this false information.
More clicks and reading the article equals more money right?
This has been my concern for a long time. Besides that, I also had applied all the advice from these “wanna-be successful online writers” who admit that they had succeeded in making money from writing online, yet I never managed to get any progress.
I still didn’t have clients which means up until now none of the advice they gave isn’t working right?
For instance, writer B has told you to do these 4 repeatable steps in just one month to make a legit $1000 dollar per month. However, after you had done all the 4 steps said by the writer in one month and didn’t get any results whatsoever, doesn’t it mean the advice is a scam?
“Do what I said and you will be guaranteed to get $1000 per month just by writing online”
“Join my email newsletter to build a profitable writing online business from your home”
After joining the newsletter, it will only direct me to more sales or an offering for a course or package lesson. The schemes have already been clear to me, that selling “how to make money online” by how to make money is how you make money from it.
Making money by selling how to make money is the new trend in our era. They hit humans’ weak spot emotion in general, that is “getting rich fast and easy”.
While not all are fake gurus, there are, undoubtedly, legitimate successful online writers who managed to make a lot of money from writing online. Take some of your time to analyze who is the one that is really competent and proven in their field.
Just be careful with what you are going to read and be wise with your actions. If you see something as bullshit, you just can skim it. It’s not even worth your time.
This article was created after the response I received and applied when reading so many “get paid to write” or “how to make money by writing” or “make money writing online” articles spread all over medium article feeds.
