The internet is already full of writing advice from all over the writers on all different platforms telling you what to do and not to do.

This would greatly confuse us which ultimately lead us to a state where it is called “analysis paralysis”.

In my understanding and language, analysis paralysis is a condition or state where we get stuck because of how extremely excessive the information or resources we access or found and so we couldn’t move forward to make a decision or a work because we are trapped in finding the best information.

It’s like a never-ending loop of information cycling on your head.

You must selectively choose what kind of writing advice that really works for you and not.

Be aware of the writing advice you stumbled upon on the internet so you could see your writing experience as more of a journey than a competition.

Here are 3 myths of writing advice that I am genuinely aware of and question a lot.

## 1. Create a lot of content quickly and in a short time

I repeatedly found content saying that this is the way we could create so much content within an amount of time. For instance, there is an article saying that we could create 10 content or more in a day.

If what the creator said is true, then you approximately spend around 2,4 hours in 24 hours. Let’s say people generally sleep for 8 hours from 10.00 pm until 5.00 am, which means there are 16 hours left to actually create the contents.

If the creator were to finish 10 contents in that 16 hours span, then it would take 1,6 hours to complete each article. This questions me every time, did they really tell us the truth? Or it is just another clickbait article or writing.

But that doesn’t mean I despise this idea, nothing is impossible if we absolutely work for it, but man, 10 or more articles in a day is just an inhumane activity for me. Did they eat and write at the same time? or did they take a bath while writing in the bathroom?

## 2. Choose only 1 or 2 niche that you enjoy the most

The idea of choosing a niche limited to only 1 or 2 niches restrain us from growing ourselves in our journey to become the writer we really want. If you are not actually trying to write everything and just focus on 1 or 2 things to write, how can you know you probably would succeed at another niche?

When we try to write for one or two niches, it sets a limitation where we perhaps grow famous in other writing niches. No explorations and no experiments.

You just stood still with other people’s advice and thought it was the only advice you needed. Go out of your niche and try to write about different topics.

Maybe your understanding of cryptocurrency will lead to a massive view rather than when you write about self-development or cooking. Just try everything before trying to focus on 1 or 2 niches.

## 3. Make money from writing

From all of the advice I’ve found on the internet, the hardest one to apply is to make legit cash from writing online. I almost applied every possible action needed to get a writing job and make money out of it, none of it working out as I’d expected.

While making money from writing online is hard, strangely it is the most popular topic people read and search about. To get money from writing online, you need to be great at what you do, that is writing.

People will only hire you for how much time you have spent in the field. The bad news is many content creators position themselves as a beginner who tries their luck to get the money from writing online, where in fact they are actually an expert at it.

One thing you must know to make money from writing is that you need a huge amount of patience to make it.

## Conclusion

The 3 advice above I have shared with you may be different from what you have in mind. I write this entirely based on my opinion alone, but along with the experience I also have had in my writing journey. The only thing that I want to highlight is that you should be aware of whatever advice online writers tell you, including what I state. Be wise about the advice you are going to take in your writing journey ahead. Make sure you see the advice from every perspective.
